Summary
The Camp Education Coordinator works closely with our 5th & 6th grade teachers during the school year, and onsite during their assigned camp week, to build relationships, ensure the success of their students, and to ensure the success of all teachers. In addition, the Camp Education Coordinator works closely with and provides invaluable academic and teaching support to our high school Mentors during their assigned week of camp. This position reports directly to the OSPREY Camp Director. *OSPREY Camp is a secular outdoor education program.

Qualifications & Responsibilities (Camp Education Coordinator)
- Experience working in Outdoor Education/Environmental Science camps or programs and/or B.Ed. or experience working in elementary education is strongly desired.
- Provides teachers and Mentors with hands-on support during instructional areas; Assists with curriculum, academic supplies, etc. as needed; meets and debriefs with teachers throughout the day.
- Ensures OSPREY Camp curriculum is up to date with NGSS and Common Core Standards.
- Facilitates Classroom Presentations and Teacher Meetings offsite at local schools in the greater Puget Sound area in preparation for their weeks of camp.
Responsibilities & Qualifications (All Positions)
- Behavior management of students, Mentors, and teachers
- Works with OSPREY Camp Staff during meal programs; leads camp songs; leads presentations, etc.
- Onsite, 24 hours/day, when Mentors, students, and teachers are present – lodging and meals provided.
- Possesses excellent communication and time management skills, able to work independently and in groups.
- Self-motivated, focused, resilient, compassionate, nurturing, enthusiastic, and loves working with kids.
- Passion for collaborating with underserved communities with a lens of equity & inclusion.
- Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to travel to schools in the greater Puget Sound area – mileage reimbursed.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Essential Functions (Physical)
- Lift and carry up to 50lbs and move heavy materials across camp facilities.
- Consistently work in both indoor facilities and outdoor adverse weather conditions.
- Maintain a high level of energy and excitement despite strenuous activity (hiking, working long hours, etc.)
Dates of Employment
September 25, 2023, through June 7, 2024. Work schedule is primarily Monday-Friday with some weekends required; onsite 24 hours/day during camp sessions (lodging and meals provided). Planned time off includes November 20-26, 2023, and December 18-31, 2023.

Compensation Information
This position pays $24.28 - $28.58/hour.
