OPS Summer Camp Counselor (OPS Everglades Youth Camp Helper - 77909266)

The incumbents will supervise campers during daily activities as assigned and sleep in the cabins with campers at night. Incumbents will also be responsible for cabin safety inspections, leading night activities, shower rotations, and group leader check out procedures.  Incumbents will be assigned a different program/cabin each week and will supervise as many as 14 campers at a time with an assisting Group Leader or Instructor.

OPS Summer Camp Instructor (OPS Youth Camp Helper - 77902373)

The incumbents will work with the summer camp team to deliver experiential programs designed to engage youth with Florida’s ecosystems through outdoor recreation. The incumbents will be assigned to instruct a specific EYCC program for the summer camp season based on their experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The Incumbent will supervise as many as 12 participants at a time with an assisting Group Leader or Instructor. Programs requiring experienced Instructors at EYCC include shooting sports, hunter safety, archery, bowhunting, freshwater fishing, saltwater fishing, camping skills, canoeing, kayaking, wildlife viewing, wetland exploration, marine exploration, and counselor in training programs.

OPS Summer Camp Lifeguard - 77901725 (OPS Summer Camp Lifeguard)

The incumbent will be a lifeguard for EYCC’s aquatic activities. EYCC is a residential summer camp and sees as many as 800 participants throughout the summer. Aquatic activities that the incumbent will assist or directly oversee can include swimming, snorkeling, boating, fishing, dip netting, and marsh hiking. Most of the swimming activities occur in EYCC’s lake, which is a large, closed body of water.

OPS Summer Camp Kitchen Assistant (OPS Everglades Youth Camp Helper - 77907114)

Position Number: 77907114

The incumbents will work with the summer camp team to deliver quality food service for EYCC campers and staff. EYCC is a residential summer camp that provides 3 meals a day to all participants throughout the summer. In addition to general kitchen duties, the incumbent will work with the kitchen assistant to ensure all kitchen areas meet Health Department Standards.
