Tenure track position in Environmental Science at Oxford College of Emory University

Summary

Oxford College, a unique two-year liberal arts undergraduate college within Emory University, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Environmental Science at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin August 1, 2027. We seek applications from candidates who can contribute to the educational and intellectual vibrancy and diversity of the academic community through their teaching, research, and service. We seek candidates committed to joining an academic community dedicated to teaching and mentoring a diverse population of motivated first- and second-year undergraduates, maintaining an active program of scholarship, and engaging in service broadly defined.

We seek a broadly-trained environmental scientist with expertise in environmental policy and the ability to teach within the natural sciences. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach an introductory Environmental Policy course, as well as our Introduction to Environmental Studies course, which covers topics such as sustainability, biogeochemical cycles, ecology, Earth systems, energy resources, and climate change, and includes a field-based lab component. The successful candidate will also have opportunities to develop additional courses for both majors and non-majors, including a first-year discovery seminar, based on their expertise. Candidates with the flexibility to contribute to a range of courses within the environmental science curriculum are especially encouraged to apply.
