Summary
Join our team at Outdoor Education Adventures, a 501-3c, women led, non-profit in Yamhill County - the unseated land of the Yam Hill band of the Kalapuya people. We run an all outdoors mixed-age preschool for 3.5 - 5 year olds and are looking for an assistant teacher to help run programming late August 2025 - early June 2026 with possibility to continue employment into the future. The Nature School Assistant Educator will work with the Program Director to plan, develop, and implement an emergent curriculum.
Our students, guides and families learn with nature, in nature and about nature - and about their place on Earth. Through daily interaction with the land, all learners gain a true appreciation for how it changes over time. A balance of educator-guided activities and free play, provide young learners the opportunity to build executive function, motor and spatial skills, community building and confidence.
Duties and Responsibilities -
- The Assistant Educator will work together to plan developmentally appropriate emergent curriculum
- Hours are from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm (students from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm)
- Two hours per week for planning
- Two hours a month for working on the land with families
- Run play-responsive programming
- Gain knowledge of the local land and her gifts and creatures
Gain knowledge of human development and play-responsive teaching practices

Compensation Information
Hourly wage of $18.00 - $19.21 / hr. Paid monthly.
