Summary
The City of Bellingham's Parks Volunteer Program is looking for new team members to help facilitate our environmental stewardship events. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about the environment and their local parks and are looking for experience working in environmental education, ecosystem restoration, and/or volunteer management.
Our Parks Restoration Educator will educate and engage community members of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities in the environmental restoration and preservation of Bellingham's Parks through hands-on stewardship. The Educator also works with teaching environmental programs for K-12 students in our local schools with the goal of protecting and enhancing parklands, increasing biodiversity, and improving wildlife habitat here in Bellingham and throughout the Salish Sea region! Program duties include restoration project planning, volunteer outreach, recruitment and tracking, event planning and implementation, risk management, community partnership support, environmental education curriculum development and delivery, native plant nursery maintenance, intern support and mentorship, and capacity building.
This is an amazing opportunity for recent graduates and community members who want to get their foot in the door for working in environmental education, ecosystem restoration, and/or volunteer management.
