Aftercare Facilitators

• Monday through Friday, 3:00-6:00 pm
• School year runs September through May
• Children range in age from 5 to 9
• Preference given to candidates who hold or are pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g. education, school counseling, social work, psychology)
• At least two years of experience working with elementary age children is required
• 4-stage interview includes phone interview, in-person interview, site visit to observe an aftercare group, site visit to assist the facilitator(s)
• Requisite knowledge and skills: child development, conscious discipline and/or positive discipline, nature-based or environmental education, Reggio Emilia approach
• Responsibilities: Set up activities for children, supervise play, coach children through conflicts, interface with parents at drop-off and pick-up times, lead clean-up efforts, put away items and clean spaces after class, participate in professional development once a month

Camp Facilitators

• Spring Break Camp: March 20-24, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
• Summer Break Camp: June 12-30 and July 10-28, 8:30-3:30 pm
• Full-day paid training prior to camp is required
• Part-time (20 hr/week) and Full-time (35 hr/wk) counselors are needed
• Camp Facilitators will work directly with Cocoplum Nature School faculty to learn and practice nature-based and play-based methods
• Children range in age from 5 to 9
• Preference given to candidates who hold or are pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g. education, school counseling, social work, psychology)
• Prior experience working with children is preferred
