Summary
Environmental Educators lead engaging, hands-on lessons focused on life and earth science, coastal ecology, and marine science. Other duties include captive wildlife care (reptiles, amphibians, and both fresh and saltwater aquaria), helping facilitate dining and counter sales operations, and assistance in the upkeep of facilities and grounds. We are looking to hire Educators from August 2023 - May 2024 season. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree (education, natural science, environmental studies, biology, conservation, or outdoor education preferred) supplemented by experience in youth programming activities.
Compensation Information
Compensation includes $12.75/hour (typically a 40-45 hour work week), limited health insurance, and two weeks of paid staff training that includes exposure to all class activities, teaching techniques, classroom management skills, animal husbandry, and provided American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED training. Fully furnished on-site housing with a private bedroom runs $80/month. Meals are available in our Dining Hall during work days.
