Summary
Position Overview
Work with MSU faculty and MSU Extension staff, 4-H volunteers, and stakeholders to provide opportunities for youth to develop knowledge of the Michigan dairy industry, leadership potential, self-esteem, values, and citizenship responsibility, including 4-H dairy programming, career awareness, work force preparation, and leadership development related to agriculture and animal sciences.
You will work in collaboration with faculty and/or educators in the Department of Animal Science, the College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Agriculture and Agribusiness Institute, while will also collaborating with the Michigan Milk Producers, United Dairy Industries of Michigan and other state and national dairy stakeholders to promote programming and design and/or implement cutting edge youth education programs. Acting as a statewide point of contact, you will provide support for programs such as Michigan 4-H Dairy Youth Conference, 4-H Dairy Days, Michigan Milk Marketing Tour, 4-H dairy judging program, as well as overseeing and coordinating Michigan 4-H participation in appropriate regional and national contests and educational programs.
You will also develop, produce, and deliver 4-H dairy outreach materials with messaging and content that is accessible and inclusive and is consistent with the Children and Youth Institute and/or 4-H messaging.
Although negotiable, there will be space available for this position to work from the Department of Animal Science in Anthony Hall at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.
This position may be eligible to utilize a flexible work environment, however, there is an expectation to work from the MSU campus in East Lansing, Michigan. The needs, responsibilities, and opportunities of an individual's position and office location drive the ability and amount of work-location flexibility.
Minimum Qualifications (see full description for complete list of requirements)
- Bachelor's degree related to dairy science, animal science, youth development, education, or related field, with an expectation to complete a master's degree within a specified period of time after hire; or master's degree.

Compensation Information
$55,000 or commensurate with education and experience.
