The Mount St. Helens Institute Educators facilitate meaningful experiences for our guests, including leading hikes and other educational activities, helping students build confidence and a sense of belonging in the outdoors, and sharing their enthusiasm for Mount St. Helens with our guests. Our guests are primarily groups of youth ages 6-18, their families, and teachers but also include people of all ages at our rental programs and summer events. Educators will work with a small group of individuals under the direction of the Science Education Manager and with the support of the Science Education Coordinator. Compensation Information
Educator I Seasonal
$19.74 -$21.74/hour. Starting rate is $19.74/ hour with a mid-season wage increase possible based on performance. Educators that work until October 27, 2023, will receive a $500.00 Season Completion Bonus.
Hourly; non-exempt; temporary; seasonal: average 40 hours/week April 17 -October 27, 2023 (may be flexible). ~1 week planned, unpaid time off late June - early July). Weekend and overnight work required.
