The Early Childhood Coordinator serves as a leader, counselor, role model and participates in the planning and implementation of camp programs. This position will primarily focus on the Pee Wee Program and the Arts & Crafts Program.

Summary

The Early Childhood Coordinator serves as a leader, counselor, role model and participates in the planning and implementation of camp programs. This position will primarily focus on the Pee Wee Program and the Arts & Crafts Program. The Coordinator will develop weekly schedules, activities, snacks, crafts & games for children of ages 4-5. The Director will also be responsible for overseeing our Arts & Crafts program, by planning and providing instruction for all arts & crafts related projects for the entire camp program, and maintaining and caring for the Jung Family Craft Center. In addition this person will be the lead instructor for arts & crafts camp, specialty camps, developing weekly group crafts and serving as a back-up Summer Camp Counselor. This person will primarily be working in an office setting while assisting groups and camp happenings during the camp operation. The Pee Wee & Art Director will assist in development of an exciting and age appropriate Pee Wee Program and all camp crafts as delegated by the Summer Camp Director.

 

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan & prepare developmentally age appropriate daily activities, snacks and weekly cookout meals, Family Program Skits & songs, which adhere to the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families for the Pee Wee Program, ages 4-5.
  • Mentor & help guide the Summer Camp Counselors in implementing the Pee Wee Program goals & objectives.
  • Stay in constant communication with campers, and respond professionally to parents questions and concerns in a professional, timely, and mature manner.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe group campsite, Pee Wee Program Area and Jung Family Craft Center daily.
  • Maintain a balanced budget for the Pee Wee Program and Arts & Crafts Program by monitoring supply inventory, forecasting future needs, etc.
  • Create, Plan and implement new arts & crafts projects that are developmentally appropriate and with objectives for all scheduled groups.
  • Create lesson plans and curriculum for all arts & crafts projects and Pee Wee Program. Have plans & materials ready prior to the week of implementation, and communicate effectively with counselors, staff, and volunteers on how to teach them.
